October 2020

Good Day Everyone - we hope you enjoy reading our October newsletter!

Thanksgiving Holiday – We are closed to the public on Monday, October 12th for Thanksgiving. If you have a regular Monday daycare visit and would like your dog to visit another day please let us know!

Barrie 360 – Have you seen our ad on the Barrie 360 website yet? Back in June we applied for an advertising grant through a Central Ontario Broadcasting initiative that was developed to help small businesses recover from the losses suffered due to covid. We are beyond excited to say we were accepted for this grant!

The amazing media team put together this ad free of charge to us! They even selected some photos from our Facebook page to make it perfect! Our advertisement can be found through this link https://barrie360.com/guide-to-dog-friendly-trails-in-simcoe-county/ (you may need to remove any ad blockers).

What an amazing opportunity for us and we are so grateful to have been chosen! We would appreciate if you visit our Facebook page to share the post to help spread the word about our business. Thank you!

Fundraising Events – As you know we have several animal rescue groups and charities that we support through various fundraising events/efforts. This year – like for so many of us – these organizations have been having a tough time. Sadly a lot vof their main fundraising events such as garage sales, walkathons, golf tournaments (and more) all had to be cancelled because of Covid. And with our current provincial restrictions it’s not likely any of their fall/winter events will happen either.

We have all our current fundraising events on our Facebook page (with photos and more details) however we thought a quick list of what we have on the go might be valuable to you. We welcome you to participate if you are able to. Thank you for always being so supportive of everything we do in our business and in our community efforts.

C.O.P.E. Service Dogs is having an online auction and we have a $50 gift certificate you can bid on. There are tons of great gift ideas and items on their auction that may interest you. Here is the link https://copedogs.org/auctions/

Our friends at Melo’s Masks are selling cotton face masks for $6/each and 50% of the sales are donated to Paws of the North Rescue. All the masks we have for sale are in our grooming reception area.

Precious Paws Rescue ran a bottle/empties drive through the month of August/early September. While the “official” fundraiser is now over we are continuing to collect empties on their behalf. If you have any bottles/cans that contained alcohol please feel free to drop those off to us. All the cash redeemed when these bottles/can are returned goes directly to the rescue.

Finding Them Homes – Barrie and Area helping Northern Ontario Dogs – we have a couple of different fundraisers going on. We are hosting fall themed professional photo sessions this weekend on Saturday and Sunday. We are sold out on Saturday however we do have a limited amount of spots still available on Sunday. Please email us or visit our Facebook page for more details.

Our second FTH fundraiser is raising money through selling raffle tickets for gift baskets. We started this today and will be featuring a new basket every week until the end of October when we draw all the winners. These baskets are dog themed and people themed so something for everyone we hope! Please visit our Facebook page to find all the photos and details you need to participate.

For anyone who is not a big social media fan you are always welcome to email us and we will be happy to send information to you.

Thank you again everyone – we are so appreciative of your support and together we think we can make a difference. Please feel free to share this information or anything on our Facebook page to help us get the word out.

While you are there we invite you to write a review/recommendation – many new clients find us through Facebook and seeing your reviews really helps! Feel free to “like” anything on the page and if you have questions you can message us directly. Enjoy seeing all the fun we have around here!

Mark These Dates In Your Calendar – Please mark these dates in your calendars that we will have limited services or will be closed. We will remind you of these dates in each monthly newsletter:

Thursday, January 7, 2021 – daycare services available; all boarding dogs to be picked up

Friday, Jan. 8 to Monday, Jan. 11, 2021 – closed to the public (re-open for regular hours on Jan. 12)

There will be other dates throughout the year that are not listed here we will let you know about (statutory holidays for example). We will always keep you informed of these dates!

That’s all for now…thank you everyone for all your support and friendship – we appreciate it! Shawn & Sandy
