Good day! Please enjoy reading our August newsletter!
Charity Dog Wash and Craft Show – Mark this date in your calendar for our 8th annual charity dog wash in support of Finding Them Homes rescue – Saturday, August 13 from 11am to 2pm! Bring your pup in and for a $35 minimum cash donation they will be pampered with an all-natural shampoo, towel dry and nail trim!
Maybe your pooch is not up for a wash or you don’t have a dog? No problem you are more than welcome to come check out the fun! FTH will have raffle draws, BBQ lunch, and some of their adoptable dogs will be here for a meet and greet! We are excited to have many local craft vendors selling their products with a portion of sales being donated to the rescue. Watch our Facebook page for vendor highlights and photos!
Pet Loss Support Meetings – Every pet owner will agree the hardest part of having our furry family members is having to say our final goodbyes. The grief, loneliness, guilt, sadness, depression is real and often times we deal with all of that alone. The grieving process can take weeks, months, years even. Some of us have a deeper relationship with our pets than we do with our humans.
We have connected with a local registered therapist Melanie Devison, MA, RP (www.therapyheals.ca) who will be leading two pet loss support group meetings at our location. The dates are Tuesday, August 9 and Thursday, August 11. Both sessions start at 6:30pm. We have event posts on our Facebook page with the full details. Registration is required as we want to keep the group sizes small, personal, and confidential. Everyone is welcome (you do not need to be a TPFP client) if you have lost a pet or have a palliative pet that you are preparing for end of life. Please message us through Facebook or email info@theeplaceforpaws.com.
Plan Ahead Now – We have noted in each newsletter this year about our annual personal break September dates and they are coming up very soon! Please start making alternate arrangements now if you need care for your pet during this time. The dates we are closed are Saturday, September 10 to Sunday, September 18.
We will re-open for regular business hours on Monday, September 19.
Precious Paws Bottle Drive – We have an ongoing fundraiser for Precious Paws Rescue. Please donate your bottles/cans that contained alcohol – all return money goes directly to the rescue!

- Friday, January 13 to Monday, January 16 – closed to the public. We re-open on Tuesday, January 17.
